Prepare for surgery.

Your doctor will provide specific instructions. The information below is designed to help you understand what to expect before, during, and after your procedure.

Pre-Admission Testing

Not all patients require pre-admission testing. If required, your physician will write an order to the lab of your choice.

Pre-Admission Call

Have a list of your medications ready. Include over-the-counter drugs you routinely take.

  • Review your health history.
  • Receive instructions on how to prepare for surgery.
  • Discuss medications and how to manage them before and after surgery.
  • Arrange for transportation home after surgery.
  • Answer any questions you may have about your procedure.
Parking

Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Center for Outpatient Surgery. Please follow the signs for patient and visitor parking.

What to Bring
  • Photo ID and insurance cards.
  • List of current medications.
  • Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
  • A responsible adult to drive you home.
  • Any required paperwork from your physician.
After Surgery
  • Rest for the remainder of the day.
  • Do not drive or operate machinery for 24 hours.
  • Take medications as prescribed.
  • Follow all post-operative instructions provided by your surgeon.
